Hans Koppeschaar is medical advisor for the Alan Turing Institute Almere. He is a specialist in the field of neuro-endocrinology and is part of the multidiscliplinary research teams on FSD and Obesity.

Scientist at Alan Turing Institute Almere, Emotional Brain and FlevoResearch, Almere, the Netherlands, where he conducts neurobiological research in the fields of Obesity and Sexual (dys)function.
Born in Indonesia of dutch parents he was educated at the University of Amsterdam, faculty of Medicine. He received his MD in 1974; 1977 Certificate Educational Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates (ECFMG)(USA); and PhD in Medicine in 1983, University Utrecht, Netherlands.
He was appointed consultant in Internal Medicine and Endocrinology/Metabolism in 1979, University Medical Center Utrecht; from 1985-1986 research fellow in Endocrinology with prof R.Hall and prof M.Scanlon, Neuroendocrine Unit, University of Wales, College of Medicine, Cardiff, UK.
From 1988 to 2009 he was an associate professor of Medicine and tutor Endocrinology and Metabolism at the University Medical Center Utrecht. Over the years he has supervised the training of Internal Medicine residents and postdoctoral training in Endocrinology; also 12 graduate students have completed their thesis work under his supervision.
He is (co)author of well over 180 articles in peer-reviewed scientific journals and books and has been a lecturer for national and international symposia and conferences and has made regularly scientific presentations at meetings.
